Can someone please tell me if the du Simitière watercolor of Drayton Hall has actually been confirmed to be the earliest known rendition of the building? Is the watercolor as early as is indicated? What I can glean from the internet is that the saga of its arrival at Drayton Hall is still a bit of an open-ended mystery in spite of the fact that the sender was tracked down in Virginia.

Thanks.

I've visited Drayton Hall several times, and I love it!!! It is a wonderful house, and it speaks to me...I love that it is unfurnished, and so stark. You can really appreciate the house.
